Community Health Nurse

The Tsartlip First Nation is pleased to invite applicants to apply to the permanent, full-time Community Health Nurse (CHN) position.

The Community Health Nurse provides a comprehensive range of nursing functions and services in the Tsartlip First Nation community in the areas of health promotion, disease prevention, education, and assessment. The Nurse works within the context of a culturally safe, holistic, client-centered focus. The CHN reports to the Health Programs Manager.

The wage range for this position is $38.45 – $50.49 per hour.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing from a recognized University;
  • Current registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Public Health/Home Care Nursing;
  • Experience working within a First Nations community an asset;
  • Valid First Aid and CPR Level C certificates required;
  • Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license and reliable vehicle plus a clean driver’s abstract is required;
  • Clean criminal record check with Vulnerable Sector required.

The Tsartlip First Nation is one of five communities that constitute the W̱SÁNEĆ Nation. Located on the west side of the Saanich Peninsula (south east Vancouver Island), the W̱SÁNEĆ people have lived on these lands since time immemorial.

We have a population of 1038 registered members living both on and off Tsartlip First Nation territory.

Tsartlip 653 is comprised of Goldstream IR13, Mayne Island IR6, Senanus Island IR10 and South Saanich IR1 covering approximately 334 hectares in size and includes single family residential and leased homes, band administrations and commercial developments.
