Accounting Technician
The Tsartlip First Nation is pleased to invite applicants to apply to the permanent, full-time Accounting Technician position. The Accounting Technician provides generalist accounting and account reconciliation services on a full spectrum of accounting activities to support and drive both day-today and strategic finance priorities. This will include, but not be limited to, accounts receivable and accounts payable posting, general ledger posting, sub- ledger reconciliations, sub-ledger to general ledger reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations and budget reporting and management. The Accounting Technician operates under the direct supervision of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
The salary for this position is $60,000 per annum.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field. and
- 2-5 years of recent related experience in either generalist or multiple specialist roles. and
- Possess either a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or Certified Aboriginal Financial Manager
(CAFM) designation or willing to pursue the designation. - Experience developing and implementing accounting and finance policies and procedures.
- Experience developing and analyzing operating budgets an asset.
- Preference given to candidates with experience with Adagio accounting software.
- Experience processing payables, receivables and general ledger entries
- Previous experience working in a First Nations community is an asset.
- Clean criminal record check required.

Located on the west side of the Saanich Peninsula (south east Vancouver Island), the W̱SÁNEĆ people have lived on these lands since time immemorial. We have a population of 1038 registered members living both on and off Tsartlip First Nation territory. Tsartlip 653 is comprised of Goldstream IR13, Mayne Island IR6, Senanus Island IR10 and South Saanich IR1 covering approximately 334 hectares in size and includes single family residential and leased homes, band administrations and commercial developments.
