My traditional name is ZIȻOT, I carry with pride and respect passed to me by my grandmother. My English name is Dawn Olsen. My father is Gordon Olsen from the W̱JOȽEȽP First Nation, and I am deeply proud to carry on the legacies of my grandparents, Laura Bartleman/Olsen and Ernest Olsen. My mother is June Wylie; I honor the heritage of Evangeline Thomas from Tseshaht First Nation and Ralph Wylie from Seattle.
As a member of the W̱JOȽEȽP First Nation, I am passionate about serving our community as a food security coordinator, dedicated to providing comfort and support to all members. My heart has been filled with joy while working as the hot lunch coordinator at the W̱SÁNEĆ leadership secondary school for the past five years. Leaving the students I have come to care about so deeply is not easy; the bonds we have built will forever hold a cherished place in my heart. Though I will miss the daily interactions, I am grateful to continue connecting with these wonderful students through the programs offered at our health center. I take immense pride in my work and bring a wealth of experience from various roles, all with the aim of uplifting our community. My commitment to nurturing and
supporting those around me drives everything I do.
Sincerely yours
Love and Respect,
ZIȻOT
