Operations Manager

Starting Rate: Between $40-50/hr depending on experience
Hours: 15-20/week
Availability: Hybrid Onsite / Local / Remote

Remarkable Communications is a communications agency based in Victoria, BC, that exists to Amplify Indigenous Voices. Our team of 13+ staff provides a complete range of on-site, online, and studio-based multimedia services to support Indigenous leaders, community members, and organizations in meeting their objectives. The Opportunity
Working with a vibrant, agile team, the successful candidate will be expected to support our founder to deliver remarkable results.
Candidates must be self-motivated, great at problem-solving, and interested in social justice issues. The ideal candidate will have operational experience, excellent communication & leadership & management skills, a strong appreciation for Indigenous issues, and a desire to learn. Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated a positive impact on the world.
The Operations Manager will also
- Help develop and coach a team of 4 direct reports.
- Support direct reports to succeed by helping them set objectives, take ownership, and grow in their careers.
- Build organizational capacity through expansion, hiring, and training.
- Develop strategies, implement efficiencies, and monitor the day-to-day operational systems and processes that provide visibility into company goals and objectives.
- Track progress and monitor the day-to-day operational systems against targets.
- Overcome obstacles to achieving our key objectives.
- Develop/manage continuous improvement activities.
- Identify and problem-solve to eliminate bottlenecks and other inefficiencies.
- Implement best practices to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Contribute to the creation and management of monthly financial reporting, and financial oversight.
- Collaborate with our operations team on planning, efficient workflows, and productivity measurement issues

- You’re highly proficient in working with Google Workspace, Quickbooks, Slack and Trello
- You have a background in business and possess strong business acumen with solid finance, logistics, and employee management knowledge.
- You can coordinate, plan, manage, delegate, and oversee many aspects of operations.
- You have proven experience in attaining organizational objectives.
