Job Summary

The Tsartlip First Nation is pleased to invite applicants to apply to the full-time- fixed term contract Children, Youth and Families Manager from 1st May 2025 – 31st July 2026 position.

The Children, Youth and Families Manager (CYF Manager) is responsible for providing all support services related to development, delivery and management of programs designed to enhance the emotional, social, developmental or mental health and wellbeing of children, youth and their families.
The CYF Manager operates under the direct supervision of the Director Community Services and under the for day-to-day supervision, mentoring and support.

The salary range for this position is $75,000 per annum.

Education and Experience

  • Degree or diploma in a discipline such as Child and Youth Care, Family Services, Human Services or Business Administration; and
  • 2 years of experience in one or more of these areas; or
  • An equivalent combination of related education, training and experience;
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience managing, directing and leading employees and contractors in both non-union and unionized work environments;
  • Experience developing and managing children, youth and family programs;
  • Experience developing, managing and controlling operating budgets;
  • Experience developing a variety of written reports, policy and procedures, and other documentation in accordance with organization directives and/or regulatory guidelines;
  • Experience working in a First Nations community an asset;
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and reliable vehicle plus a clean driver’s abstract and appropriate insurance;
  • Clean criminal record check with Vulnerable Sector required.

The Tsartlip First Nation is one of five communities that constitute the W̱SÁNEĆ Nation. Located on the west side of the Saanich Peninsula (south east Vancouver Island), the W̱SÁNEĆ people have lived on these lands since time immemorial.

Tsartlip 653 is comprised of Goldstream IR13, Mayne Island IR6, Senanus Island IR10 and South Saanich IR1 covering approximately 334 hectares in size and includes single family residential and leased homes, band administrations and commercial developments.
