Tsartlip Admin and Chief and Council acknowledge the burden of grief being carried by many of our community members over the last two weeks.
We mourn with the families experiencing the heartbreaking losses of their family members and appreciate the timing of the nomination meeting is less than ideal.
That being said, Leadership has a responsibility to serve the community at large, and moving a nomination meeting, unfortunately, isn’t as simple as rescheduling. Running an election requires the allocation of significant time and resources as well as the requirement to follow a very specific process.
While it is a difficult decision to make, Tsartlip Admin and Chief and Council have decided to proceed with tonight’s nomination meeting, only because we’ve personally contacted the affected families with special accommodations during this time.
If you’re affected by the loss of a loved one and would also like accommodation, please choose from one of the following options:
- Print and fill out these two forms: The nomination form and the declaration form and request admin@tsartlip.com to pick them up
- Email admin@tsartlip.com or 1(604) 786-2512 to arrange a private nomination with the electoral officer.
