NNADAP Worker

The Tsartlip First Nation is pleased to invite applicants to apply to the permanent, full-time NNADAP Worker position until April 30, 2025.

The NNADAP Worker provides expertise in community-based clinical mental wellness counselling services and prevention services to those seeking help. The NNADAP worker practices in a culturally safe, trauma informed way, while recognizing and respecting the values, beliefs and customs of individuals, families and community as well as adhering to best practices current to the field. The NNADAP Worker reports to the Health Programs Manager.

The wage range for this position is $32 – $34 per hour.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in counselling, psychology, social work, criminology or a relevant human services field; and
  • Up to date registration and in good standing with professional regulatory body; and
  • Advanced training in threat/risk assessment and/or trauma response Occupational Certification; and
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working with complex social systems; or
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Minimum 2 years working with threat/risk and trauma assessment, intervention and post-intervention;
  • Experience working from a trauma informed, culturally sensitive perspective;
  • Experience working with First Nations people and communities;
  • Experience preparing funding proposals for mental health and addiction programs and initiatives;
  • Experience creating documents, spreadsheets, memos, messages etc. with Microsoft programs;
  • Experience maintaining records, filing and correspondence tracking;
  • Class 5 driver’s licence, reliable vehicle and a clean driver’s abstract and appropriate insurance is required;
  • Valid first aid and CPR “C” certificate required;
  • Clean criminal record check with Vulnerable Sector required;

The Tsartlip First Nation is one of five communities that constitute the W̱SÁNEĆ Nation.  Located on the west side of the Saanich Peninsula (south east Vancouver Island), the W̱SÁNEĆ people have lived on these lands since time immemorial.

We have a population of 1038 registered members living both on and off Tsartlip First Nation territory.

Tsartlip 653 is comprised of Goldstream IR13, Mayne Island IR6, Senanus Island IR10 and South Saanich IR1 covering approximately 334 hectares in size and includes single family residential and leased homes, band administrations and commercial developments.
